Have you ever heard the saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover”? Well, we can’t help but look at book covers so that’s definitely one way to pick a great book. Here are more tips to help you narrow down your list.
- Ask your friends what books they are reading and what they like about them
- Ask your parents and older siblings what their favourite books were growing up.
- Get your teachers to recommend books. English teachers tend to love the classics but there is a reason they are called classics. Through the years, their popularity seems to increase unlike other books.
- Ask your local Librarian to point you in the right direction.
- Go online and search for award winning books, author’s favourite books and recommendations from children’s book reviewers.
Happy reading!
